Mint Top
Is mint oil or extract flammable?
I’m making a layered mixed drink and wanted to know if I added mint oil to the top, would I be able to light it?
It has to be drinkable, but I would like to know anyway!
This is for a demonstration speech. Although at the college level, some of my classmates are not of age and I would like to use something that is not sold as alcohol, but still contains a high content.
Mint oil is not going to give you the flaming effect you want. It would burn a couple of seconds tops. Also I can’t imagine it tasting good mixed with alcohol. You should just invest in some creme de menthe or peppermint schnapps, and 151 rum. Either of the first two will give you the mint taste you want ( with the extra alcohol benefit) and the 151 will catch fire and stay fire for that smoking drink look you probably want like at bars or restaurants. It’s also best to blow out the fire and drink as a shot if you can so you get a really fast buzz. Good luck!
