Red Dawn

Have you seen Red Dawn? Our own government would attack its own people?
In Red Dawn was the Russians who attacked us.
In Red Dawn was the Cubans, along with the Russians, who tried unsuccessfully to invade this country. It is a legitimate concern that our government could attack its own citizens, remember Waco and Ruby Ridge?

The rebellion of Israel in the Red Sea
The children of Israel that God sent Moses to take from the slavery of Egypt to the Promised Land were a group unfaithful almost from the beginning. His rebellion against God began before Mt. Sinai and even before crossing the Red Sea. The Psalmist said: "Our fathers in Egypt did not understand Thy wonders, but do not remember the multitude of thy mercies, but rebelled by the sea -. the Red Sea "(Ps. 106:7 NIV) is a cost-benefit study to examine details of the rebellion and see what can be learned from what would be of value to us today.
When God appeared to Moses at the burning bush that presented as follows: "'I am the God of his father -. the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob' And Moses hid his face; he was afraid to look upon God. And the Lord said: "I have seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters, for I know their suffering. So I come down to deliver them from the hands of the Egyptians, and remove them from that land to a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey … Now therefore behold, the cry of the children of Israel has come to me, and I've also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them. Come then, and I will send you to Pharaoh to be my people the children of Israel out of Egypt. '"(Exodus 3:6-10 NIV)
Moses was instructed to go to Egypt, gathers the village elders, say of God and the mission he had sent to Moses on, and in particular (for the purposes of this article) say: "I (God – DS) will relieve him of the affliction of Egypt to the land … flowing with milk and honey "(Exodus 3:17 NIV – see Exodus 3:13-22 for the entire account.).
Also was given three miracles or signs that would take place before the people as evidence that God had sent them. These signs can be found listed in the example. 4:1-9 and consisted of staff became a snake when thrown to the ground, his hand placed on his cloak became lepers, and the Nile water is poured on the floor and blood time. The snake, caught by the tail when it became a new computer and the hand is placed on layer after becoming a leper was returned healthy. The Bible says, "So people think. "(Exodus 4:31 NIV)
However, when Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh asked to leave the children of Israel seems to Pharaoh was angry and greatly increased the workload of the Israelites. On the other hand, it seems certain period of time spent in these growing conditions intolerable to the point that even Moses began to wonder why the Lord says: "Lord, why have you brought trouble in this town? Why you sent me? For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in your name, who has done evil to this people, and has given his people in all "(Ex. 5:22-23 NIV) Moses most likely still believed, but it did. do not understand.
The children of Israel were beginning to doubt. He says to Moses: "What the Lord looks at you and the judge, because we have done abominable in the sight of Pharaoh and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in his hand to kill us. "(Exodus 5:21 NIV) There is no exodus. One suspects that this was the time provided in the old. 14:12 in the rebellion of the Red Sea when the children of Israel saw the military approach Egyptian Moses said: "This is not the word he said in Egypt, saying:" Let us alone that we may serve the Egyptians? "(NKJV) When Moses was told that because in Egypt there is little doubt his thinking was, if not for this trouble maker Moses Pharaoh would be more lenient with us. Yes be doubted Moses and God.
God tells Moses: "Therefore say unto the children of Israel:" I am the Lord, I bring out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, to rescue you from their bondage and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments. I will take as my people, and I will be your God. And ye shall know I am the Lord your God, who gets you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. And bring you into the land I swore to give Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and I give as a heritage. I am the Lord spoke to Moses and the children of Israel, but did not heed Moses, because of anguish of spirit and cruel bondage. "(Exodus 6:6-9 NIV)
I want to point something at this point in time. God has said that at least two times their intentions towards them (Ex. 3:7 and 6:6-9). Will you believe in God or not believe? It is sometimes hard to be faithful. Things are rotten and see no hope and feel that God has abandoned us. We begin to doubt him. There was no light at the end of the tunnel but could not see and were not willing to believe.
It is a lesson for us regarding our faith? Are we to believe that God is with us things get rough or I was going to quit and give up our faith? Children of Israel giving up too soon. What is the old saying – is not always is darkest before dawn. We would do well to remember that and hope in the Lord. His word is good. If he said something will happen. There is no valid justification for doubt.
We now enter the period of the ten plagues. Everyone can see God working in these events and the children of Israel had the opportunity to see God is on their side as they fought some of the plagues visited upon the Egyptians. They were saved from the plague of flies (Exodus 8:20-30), the plague on livestock (Exodus 9:1-7), the plague of boils (Exodus 9:8-12), the plague of hail (Exodus 9:13-33), locusts, possibly (based on Exodus 10:06, but see also Exodus 10: 14 that makes clear), the plague of darkness (Exodus 10:21-29), and the plague of the firstborn males (Ex. 11). When they began to leave Egypt, which also saw the column of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night, indicating the presence of God and the orientation (Exodus 13:21).
You feel certain after seeing all these pests, and seeing how he had escaped most of them, God making a clear distinction between the children of Israel and the Egyptians, and see how their own children firstborn left lying in death in the last plague that the children of Israel never doubt God again. They had seen and observed so much you would have thought. Add to that the cloud by day and pillar of fire by night, what do you think that the question?
Here we learn another lesson that is very evident. Great works of God, great miracles, already in itself does not necessarily create an abiding faith. For a time they can strike for respect and admire in a person and for a time make a believer out of him / her, but how long is that going to last? With all the signs of Jesus that made the Bible says: "Although I had done so many signs before them, did not believe in him. "(John 12:37 NIV) However, the purpose of the signs (miracles) is the creation of faith," He Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book, but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is Christ, the Son of God, and that believing ye might have life in His name "(John 20:30-31 NIV) Faith is a last resort. a man free choice miracles or no miracles.
For most long story short and get to the rebellion of the Red Sea we have been setting the stage are aware that after the death of the firstborn sons of Egypt that the Israelites were allowed out of Egypt – almost expelled – but the Pharaoh changed his mind and went after them. We know that to reach the Red Sea to the children of Israel looked back and saw the Egyptian army closing on them and panic set in. This is what says Bible happened.
"And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians marched after them. So they were very afraid, and the children of Israel cried to the Lord. Then he said to Moses: 'Because there were no graves in Egypt, brought us to die in the desert? Why, to deal with us, which brought us out of Egypt? Is not this the word that you said in Egypt, saying: 'Ah! That we may serve the Egyptians? This would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians that we should die in the desert. '"(Exodus 14:10-12 NIV)
This is what the psalmist call to rebellion by the sea in Psalm 106:7. Yes, they cried to the Lord but it seems that there was little or no faith that he would come to her rescue. This, then, a lesson for you and me today. Why is the word the Lord if we do not believe that we respond? James says to ask for wisdom, "ask in faith, nothing wavering" (James 1:06 NIV) and then says the man who asks to doubt "that do not assume that the man who will receive anything from the Lord." (James 1:07 NIV) Jesus taught his disciples to pray believe (Mark 11:24). He said only 2 previous verses in this passage Marcos, "Have faith in God." (Mark 11:22 NIV)
I can see why the children of Israel were afraid. No man had dreamed of but God parted the Red Sea into two parts. This was unheard of. They saw no escape. Maybe that should be a reminder for you and for me a time in our own lives is the time to pray and trust God for deliverance of our problems because it is the one with the power to save in such circumstances. There was a man living with power to save them from the wrath of the Egyptians, God alone could save however, you would not believe.
I do not think however, had his word to those who were to be taken to a land of milk and honey, the statements made to those already mentioned in the article. If you believe that God knew it would intervene. Is God? Do not trust him.
It seems that were about to wave a white flag and trying to make peace with the Egyptians and the return to slavery. They feared for their lives for what would look like a business for them. They were willing to renounce God.
Here's another lesson we can draw from this. God does things in his own time. Could have shown the way exhaust before him so there was no panic. I was testing? Who can say? If God meant to be or not one can say, but can say that ended up being a test of faith whether intentional or not – one does not. work of man before God is to trust and obey and be patient. If you really trust God, I really have faith, patience will come easier for you to know God is there for you in time.
I think the final lesson for me, at least for the purposes of this article is never to look back and doubt. Our life with God is not looking back but forward in faith. Peter said: "If, after having escaped the pollutions the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein and overcome, the last state has become worse than the first. This would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. "(2 Peter 2:20-21 NIV)
The children of Israel were ready to go back if they could do safely. Wished she had never left. Peter would call that sort of thing for the Christian like a pig being washed back to wallowing in the mud. (2 Peter 2:22) Jesus said: "No one who puts his hand on the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God. "(Luke 9:62 NIV)
We have no need to imitate the children of Israel and the rebellion in the Red Sea, but the need to "imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises "(Hebrews 6:12 NIV) to also have been given promises of a promised land, our own land flowing with milk and honey. We need endurance, so that after having done the will of God, receive the promise. (Hebrews 10:36 NIV) Therefore, do not let the Christian look back and begin to doubt and hesitation, and question God. We rebel in our own Red Sea, but to do what God told Moses to do when he said to him, "Tell the children of Israel to go forward. "(Exodus 14:15 NIV) God knows the address to the Promised Land, and is forward, not backward.
