MTG players. What makes an expensive card?
I'll give you one. In the new set Lorwyn, Confiscate thoughts "worth" 25.00. Why Why? One is a Black, end that allows the player looks at his hand and discard a card that is not land, but lead a two affected. I kind of understand condemnation but that just seems pretty damn ridiculous. This comes back to another question you should have asked. What is a RARE RARE? Since no one more than their hair know how rare a card is printed, how can even set a price? Just me .. Ok .. I think I should talk about where I'm coming. I used to collect baseball cards. RARITY shortage means to me. Back in the day, baseball cards were placed in series. The trouble was the last year I have, less paper. For the seventh series they hoped would find a box. That's my take on rarity. Obviously, the rarity of MTG is totally different. Confiscate thoughts become a "broken" card?? Condemns
The price of a card is usually determined by their ability to interpret the standard and later in the gameplay in Vintage or Legacy. Confiscate thoughts is the turn of a screening and get to see opponents hand. Life is two really a nonexistent problem. Rare (we speaking here not aluminum) are very rare and the number of a rare few are printed has no impact on price is rare. Limited edition cards tend to be valuable for another reason. As MPR cards without text are valuable because they are without text, including the Commons without text.
