English witch trials from 995 AD to 1701 AD and 1944

Ms. Duncan, a Scot who traveled the country holding seances, was one of the most popular media in Britain, reputedly numbering Winston Churchill and George VI among her clients when she was arrested in January 1944 by two officers Admiralty in a seance in Portsmouth. The military authorities, planned in secret D-Day landings and then in a state of paranoia, were alarmed by reports that she had disclosed – allegedly via contacts with the spiritual world – the sinking of two British warships long before it became public. The most serious revelation came when he told the parents of a missing sailor that his ship, HMS Barham, had sunk. It was true, but news of the tragedy had been suppressed to preserve morale.

Desperate to silence the alleged leak state secrets, the authorities responsible for Ms. Duncan of conspiracy, fraud, and witchcraft in a ceremony that dates back to 1735 – the position for the first time in more than a century.
