Once a year deep in the central highlands of Africa, heavy seasonal rains fall. The waters of rhythm and south in the Kalahari Desert, forming the largest inland delta in the world – The Okavango Delta in northern Botswana. This unique wetland supports and sustains a huge diversity of wildlife and is considered by many to be one of the most prolific African and desert wildlife sanctuaries.
This natural phenomenon that contrasts with an ecosystem booming driven by different stimuli in the Chobe and Linyanti regions north of the delta. The many and varied habitats in the Chobe and areas of Linyanti Wildlife – such as wetlands, waterways, riverine forests, dry forests and world famous Canal Savuto – have created an area famous for its predators and large concentrations of game, especially elephants, which can meet sometime around 400 strong.
